Can I have a private cruise?
We run private trips based on a minimum of 40 passengers.

What is included?
Your return transfer from hotels in Victoria Falls, refreshments such as bottled water, cocktails, premium drinks, and savoury canapés.


What is not included?
There is a park fee of $10 so please bring some cash along with you.

Is there an age or fitness restriction?
No minimum age, however, children under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian. There’s no fitness or weight limit but you must be fit enough to walk in and out of the boat and sit on your own.

What safety measures are in place?
The captain, who’s fully trained in advanced first aid, will give a full safety briefing before the journey. The boat is fitted with a first aid kit and safety equipment, including life rafts, rings, jackets and fire extinguishers, which will be pointed out during the briefing. There are 2-way communication radios and mobile phones on board if the captain needs assistance and for easy communication with the office.

What should I bring?
Bring your travel voucher, camera, binoculars, insect repellent, sunscreen during the hot season and a jersey during the cooler months.

What should I leave behind?
Your valuables and anything else that you do not need on the cruise.

What should I wear?

WHITE WATER RAFTING DAY TRIP
Choose between our famous one day trip for a taste of the action or our overnight, two night and four Day rafting experiences that take you to parts of the Zambezi very few people get to see. On these longer trips, after a hard day rafting, relax with a cold beer on a white sandy beach and enjoy the peace, quiet and tranquillity of the gorge. How long does it last?
For the one day trip, we meet at 7:30am for a safety briefing and you’ll be back at your hotel around 3pm. The multi-day trips each have different timings.

What are the rafting seasons?
If you’re with us for low water season between August and December, you start right in the Boiling Pot in the spray of Victoria Falls. You get an unrivalled view of the Falls and the Bridge, then navigate rapids 1 – 19 in some of the most intense grade 5 rapids known to man. If you’re with us between January and April, depending on rainfall, you’ll normally start at rapid 11, 10km downstream from the mighty Falls, and will continue to rapid 23.

Multi-day trips generally only run between August and December Generally speaking but it depends on rainfall . Mid July- end of December low water, high water- jan-july. Very high water- 11-23. Splash and dash

What is not included?
We take photos and videos during each experience that can be purchased.

Is there an age or fitness restriction?
All rafters must be over 15 years of age. A reasonable level of fitness is required to walk in and out of the gorge. The walk out is equivalent to climbing a 7-storey building, there are rest stops and drink breaks on the way and you can go at your own pace. Please declare any health issues and medication upfront.

What should I bring?
Swimming costume, t-shirt, sunscreen, any medication needed, national parks fees. Dry clothes can be left with our team and you can change into them at the top of the gorge.

What should I leave behind?
All valuables should be left behind as well as anything that isn’t waterproof.

Is there a trained guide?

What are the operating hours?
We offer morning (6am pick-up) and afternoon (2:30pm pick-up) game walks and game drives. Our evening game drive, with dinner at the Jafuta, picks up at 3:35pm. In total the walks and drive last between 3 and 3.5 hours.

What is included?
For the morning walks and drives guests enjoy Light snack which includes muffins, Tea, Coffee & water will be served. For the afternoon game drives and walks, Light afternoon snack which includes peanuts and chips served with local beers, soft drinks, and water. After the evening game drive, a two course a la carte dinner is served, with a cash bar at the restaurant. We include a fleece poncho to keep you warm in the winter and/or early mornings.

Who are the guides?
Our guides train for four years to become professional guides and become qualified to lead walking safaris. All guides are licenced to carry a firearm and do so on the walking trips. They also carry a first aid kit and a radio to communicate with Shearwater HQ.

What should I wear?
Wear neutral colours – no bright colours – and comfortable walking shoes. The mornings and evenings can be chilly so bring something warm. Wearing long pants is advised as you will be walking through the bush.

What should I bring?
A camera and binoculars, warm clothing and, if it’s the rainy season, a rain jacket.

What should I leave behind?
Any valuables and food.

How many people can participate?
For your safety there will be a maximum of 6 guests on a game walk and 10 guests on a game drive. Both experiences require a minimum of 2 guests to take place.

Are there any age and health restrictions?
For a game drive, all guests must be over 4 years old and there are no fitness restrictions. For the game walk, all guests must be over 13 years old. There’s no upper age limit, but you must be fit enough to walk through the bush, in the heat, for several hours.

What can I expect to see?
We can’t guarantee sightings, but we often see elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo and several species of plains game. While less common, we’ve seen lions and leopards. Guides will also talk about the flora, fauna and bird life of the Zambezi National Park.

What are the operating hours?
We offer morning (6am pick-up) and afternoon (2:30pm pick-up) game walks and game drives. Our evening game drive, with dinner at the Jafuta, picks up at 3:35pm. In total the walks and drive last between 3 and 3.5 hours.

What is included?
For the morning walks and drives guests enjoy Light snack which includes muffins, Tea, Coffee & water will be served. For the afternoon game drives and walks, Light afternoon snack which includes peanuts and chips served with local beers, soft drinks, and water. After the evening game drive, a two course a la carte dinner is served, with a cash bar at the restaurant. We include a fleece poncho to keep you warm in the winter and/or early mornings.

Who are the guides?
Our guides train for four years to become professional guides and become qualified to lead walking safaris. All guides are licensed to carry a firearm and do so on the walking trips. They also carry a first aid kit and a radio to communicate with Shearwater HQ.

What should I wear?
Wear neutral colors – no bright colors – and comfortable walking shoes. The mornings and evenings can be chilly so bring something warm. Wearing long pants is advised as you will be walking through the bush.

What should I bring?
A camera and binoculars, warm clothing and, if it’s the rainy season, a rain jacket.

What should I leave behind?
Any valuables and food.

How many people can participate?
For your safety there will be a maximum of 6 guests on a game walk and 10 guests on a game drive. Both experiences require a minimum of 2 guests to take place.

Are there any age and health restrictions?
For a game drive, all guests must be over 4 years old and there are no fitness restrictions. For the game walk, all guests must be over 13 years old. There’s no upper age limit, but you must be fit enough to walk through the bush, in the heat, for several hours.

What can I expect to see?
We can’t guarantee sightings, but we often see elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo and several species of plains game. While less common, we’ve seen lions and leopards. Guides will also talk about the flora, fauna and bird life of the Zambezi National Park.

What insurance do you have?
Shearwater has public liability insurance of $2m USD, underwritten by Lloyds of London in place for all activities.

How are the helicopters maintained?
Our Bell 206 Long Ranger and Bell Jet Ranger helicopters are the most reliable aircraft on the market. They’re maintained to the highest industry standards as specified by the manufacturer, Bell Textron. We follow the South African Maintenance Organisation and Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe guidelines and our service centre is the only one in Africa that’s International Business Aviation Council and Helicopter Association International accredited.

How do I get there?
We’ll pick you for free from any Victoria Falls hotel.

What is not included?
Please bring cash with you to cover park fees. You can also purchase videos and photos of your experience to take home with you.

Can I have a private cruise?
We run private trips based on a minimum of 40 passengers.

What is included?
Your return transfer from hotels in Victoria Falls, refreshments such as bottled water, cocktails, premium drinks, and savoury canapés.

What is not included?
There is a park fee of $10 so please bring some cash along with you.

Is there an age or fitness restriction?
No minimum age, however, children under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian. There’s no fitness or weight limit but you must be fit enough to walk in and out of the boat and sit on your own.

What safety measures are in place?
The captain, who’s fully trained in advanced first aid, will give a full safety briefing before the journey. The boat is fitted with a first aid kit and safety equipment, including life rafts, rings, jackets and fire extinguishers, which will be pointed out during the briefing. There are 2-way communication radios and mobile phones on board if the captain needs assistance and for easy communication with the office.

What should I bring?
Bring your travel voucher, camera, binoculars, insect repellent, sunscreen during the hot season and a jersey during the cooler months.

What should I leave behind?
Your valuables and anything else that you do not need on the cruise.

What should I wear?
Wear light clothes in summer as it can be very hot. In winter, bring a sweatshirt or a jacket for the morning and sunset cruise as it can get a bit chilly.
